"Botulism" Spots; Cannes Takes Notice As Promax Extends Two Judge's

Choice Awards.

Game Show Network, the only 24-hour cable network devoted exclusively to game shows and interactive game play, continues to earn accolades from the advertising community for their "You Know You Know" marketing campaign.

Titled "You Know You Know" and developed by TBWA/Chiat/Day -- San Francisco, the television campaign -- featuring three energetic spots where "Marsupial," "Sputnik" and "Botulism" are the correct answers -- illustrates how people can't help but play along with game shows.

"The positive response Game Show Network has received from the advertising community for the `You Know You Know' campaign is incredible," stated Dena Kaplan, senior vice president, marketing, Game Show Network. "We are extremely pleased with the recognition and increased awareness our network has received as a result."

The "Botulism" spot earned Game Show Network a Silver Lion while "Botulism" and "Marsupial" made the Cannes Lion Shortlist. Cannes Lion Awards are determined at the Cannes International Advertising Festival, which celebrates the latest in creative advertising from around the world. Over 19,000 entries were received for Cannes Lion 2001 consideration.

Game Show Network was awarded prestigious honors from Promax, which recognizes excellence in on-air programming. Promax granted two Judge's Choice Awards -- one for the entire `You Know You Know' campaign and a second specifically for the "Sputnik' spot -- to the network. Judge's Choice Awards note overall outstanding work during the year.

Game Show Network also received a Gold Award from Promax in the Branding and Image category for the entire campaign.

The `You Know You Know' spots also recently received Silver and Bronze Clio Awards, in the category of Television Entertainment Promotion and for campaign excellence as a National Television Campaign, respectively. Clio Awards honor advertising excellence worldwide.

Additionally, the campaign was just nominated for a Mark Award. Finalists for Mark Awards, which honor excellence in cable television marketing, will be announced at CTAM 2001.
