SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 12, 2001
Fortune Small Business (FSB)'s List Honors America's 100 Fastest-Growing Small Businesses That Demonstrate Consistent Growth in
Earnings, Revenues, and Total Stock Return
Pericom(R) Semiconductor Corporation (Nasdaq:PSEM), a leading supplier of high-speed and mixed-signal integrated circuits, has been recognized by Fortune Small Business (FSB) Magazine as the 20th fastest-growing, publicly-held small business in the U.S. The inaugural FSB 100 list appears as the cover story in FSB's July 2, 2001 issue.
"In the tradition of FORTUNE, our parent publication, our editors have compiled this 'A' list of your small business peers -- 100 entrepreneurs who successfully took their companies public and are on their way to becoming the next generation of FORTUNE 500 companies," explained Kathleen Kayse, publisher of FSB.
"It's great to be acknowledged as an industry leader by a publication whose corporate organization is as prestigious as AOL Time Warner," said Alex Hui, chairman, president and CEO of Pericom. "We are extremely pleased to be ranked 20th in FSB 100's listing of the best small companies in America. This prestigious ranking validates and reaffirms our commitment to achieve continuous growth and profitability."
The FSB 100 companies were ranked on three criteria: earnings growth, revenue growth, and total stock market return. Combined, the 100 companies on the list delivered $2.68 billion in net income during 2000, while employing only 76,568 people.
Pericom was one of only two Silicon Valley-based chip companies that made the FSB 100 list. With 22 companies, California topped the list of states with the most FSB 100 companies, followed by Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey, all with eight companies apiece.
