Scan-Optics Announces Order from Daticon

MANCHESTER, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 17, 2001
Scan-Optics, Inc. (OTC BB: SOCR), a leader in Information Capture and Customer Service Solutions for Government, Insurance, Order, Proxy, Test Scoring and other paper-intensive businesses, today announced that it received an order from Daticon, based in Gales Ferry, Connecticut, for ten Vision Series 8000 scanners. The scanners were shipped in the first half of 2001 and are already in operation.
A leader in document management services for litigation support, Daticon was a longtime customer of Photomatrix before Photomatrix was acquired by Scan-Optics in June 1999. Prior to this order, Daticon had approximately 35 Vision Series 8000 scanners in use, bringing the total to 45 scanners.
