Dean S. Read, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bar Harbor Bankshares, announces the following Officer appointment:
Gerald Shencavitz - Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Shencavitz is responsible for managing the financial, operational and technology functions for Bar Harbor Bankshares and its subsidiaries.
Mr. Shencavitz joined Bar Harbor Banking and Trust Company in 1998 and has served as Senior Vice President of Operations and Information Systems. He has twenty-six years experience in the financial services industry, including eleven years with Banknorth Group, Inc., and six years with Long Island Trust Company. He has held senior management positions in the areas of Audit, Loan Review, Operations and Technology. Mr. Shencavitz began his career with the CPA firm of KPMG Peat Marwick serving financial institution clients in the New York metropolitan area.
Mr. Shencavitz earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at the C. W. Post School of Professional Accountancy. He is a graduate of the Executive Education Program at Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
