Goldman Sachs Managing Director Joins Omgeo Board

Bradley Abelow, Managing Director of Global Operations, Goldman Sachs & Company (NYSE: GS), has been named to the Board of Omgeo, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC)/Thomson Financial joint venture company.
Abelow officially joined the Board for its meeting held yesterday in Frankfurt, Germany. Abelow becomes the sixth financial services industry representative to serve on Omgeo's Board and reaffirms Omgeo's commitment to industry oversight and participation.
The five other industry representatives currently serving on Omgeo's Board are: Alexander Lamont II, formerly Director of International Operations and Control for the Equity Trading Department of FMR Co.; Jurgen Marziniak, Chief Executive Officer, Global Securities Services at Deutsche Bank AG; Eileen K. Murray, Chief Administrative Officer, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter's International Securities Group; Thomas J. Perna, Senior Executive Vice President, The Bank Of New York; and Diane L. Schueneman, Senior Vice President, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.

Abelow is head of Global Operations for Goldman Sachs and is based in New York. Prior to assuming this assignment in March 2000, he was responsible for Operations, Technology and Finance in Asia (excluding Japan), based in Hong Kong. Since joining Goldman Sachs in the Corporate Finance area in 1989, Bradley has also worked for the firm in Operations Administration and General Services. He was named a Managing Director in 1997 and a Partner in 1998.
Bradley received a Master of Public & Private Management from Yale University in 1989 and a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University in 1983. He resides in New York with his wife and three children.
Omgeo's Board also includes two representatives each from DTCC and Thomson Financial. Representing the DTCC are Jill M. Considine, DTCC Chairman and CEO, and Robert J. McGrail, DTCC Managing Director of New Business Ventures. Representing Thomson Financial are Pat Tierney, President and Chief Executive Officer of Thomson Financial, and Sharon W. Rowlands, Chief Operating Officer of Thomson Financial.
