SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 25, 2001
Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation (E&S(R)) (Nasdaq:ESCC)--Evans & Sutherland announced today that the company has signed a contract for Encore(SM) service and support with Senasa, the Spanish Society for Civil Aeronautical Training.
Under the terms of the agreement, E&S will provide Encore support for the ESIG(R)-3350/ESCP(TM)-2000 visual system on the A340 simulator, jointly owned and operated by the Senasa/Indra consortium, at the Senasa training facility in Madrid, Spain. The initial contract duration is three years.
Encore is an innovative approach to customer service that allows customers to define the support approach most appropriate to their needs and to contract with E&S to guarantee operational availability. Under the terms of the Senasa Encore contract, failed components will be replaced within 24 hours after they are reported to E&S. The customer will also have immediate access to service information through a customized, secure, private Web site providing product news and announcements, documentation, and on-line spares and repairs tracking. This Encore service and support contract will maximize Senasa's operational availability by ensuring immediate access to spares and eliminating the risks inherent during repair cycles.
"By establishing this Encore agreement, Senasa is ensuring that their visual system will be available to support pilot training and certification," said Nick Gibbs, E&S Service and Support general manager. "In addition, this agreement demonstrates the flexibility of the Encore program--our customers can tailor a package that meets their individual needs."
