Corechange's Coreport 3g Supports More Than 22,000 Decision Makers at

America's Largest Generator of Electricity

Corechange, Inc., a global provider of e-access framework software, today announced that American Electric Power (AEP) (NYSE: AEP), a multinational energy company, is using Corechange's Coreport 3g(TM) access framework product to build an integrated enterprise portal. With Corechange's solution, 80% of all information will be within two mouse clicks of the front page, enabling all AEP employees to easily access information. The new Intranet will facilitate improved communication, more informed decisions, and increase productivity in the work environment, making possible better customer service.

Coreport enables companies to deploy wired or wireless corporate, community, marketplace and mobile commerce portals, customized to each user based on the individual's role within the enterprise. Coreport is a fully scalable, reliable, application and device independent e-access framework. Corechange's solution will allow AEP to provide a personalized Web environment for its users, establish single sign-on for all authorized applications, and permit remote access from any Internet-connected device including wireless.

"We selected Corechange's solution for the rapid deployment, personalization and any-time/any-where access," said Sandy Loy, IT leader in the Shared Services Organization at AEP. "With more than 22,000 employees and contractors, we needed a portal solution that would be quickly implemented and the resulting efficiency would allow us to improve upon our fast response and high level of customer service."

AEP began working with Corechange in March 2001. The purchase of Coreport represents AEP's first investment in portal software. AEP plans on a phased release of the Coreport capability, which began with a June 28, 2001 prototype. Select business units are using the portal throughout the summer, and based on their feedback, Corechange professionals will work with AEP to modify the solution for best performance. AEP plans to launch the portal solution corporate-wide on October 1, 2001. Also in the future, AEP will consider extending the solution externally to tackle business-to-business initiatives, such as improving information exchange between AEP and outside governmental, regulatory and environmental stakeholders.

"AEP is leading the energy sector through its investment in portal software," said Ulf Arnetz, chairman and chief executive officer of Corechange. "By providing every corporate employee access to all the applications and information they need through Coreport's comprehensive Web-enabled framework, AEP will improve collaboration within the company and transform the way they conduct business."
