MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 25, 2001
Embassy Suites Hotels(R), the national brand of upscale, all suites hotels, today announced the addition of the 296-suite Embassy Suites Hotel(R) O'Hare/Rosemont, in Rosemont, Ill., to the brand's growing roster of more than 160 hotels.
The franchised hotel formerly was the Rosemont Suites at O'Hare. This Embassy Suites Hotel represents the 32nd airport property in the brand.
The Embassy Suites Hotel O'Hare/Rosemont is owned and managed by The Dow Hotel Company LLC, based in Seattle.
"The Embassy Suites Hotel O'Hare/Rosemont will appeal greatly to business travelers attending airport meetings or both business and leisure travelers catching early-morning flights," said Randall King, general manager. "The suite concept provides today's road warrior with more space in which to work and relax. It also is ideal for families visiting the Chicago O'Hare Airport area who want to spread out in their suite."
Designed with articulated spaces in the acclaimed architectural style of Frank Lloyd Wright, the eight-story hotel features 31 meeting rooms comprising more than 15,000 square feet of meeting space; a business center; concierge services; a gift shop; an indoor swimming pool and whirlpool; a fitness center; and complimentary local transportation.
Spacious, two-room suites include a separate living area with a sofa bed, private bedroom and bath, televisions in each room, a wet bar, refrigerator, microwave oven, work desk, two telephones (one cordless) and voice mail.
Members of the Hilton HHonors(R) guest reward program can Double Dip(R) to earn Points & Miles(TM) for the same stay at the Embassy Suites Hotel O'Hare/Rosemont. Hilton HHonors represents the only guest reward program that enables its members to earn both hotel points and airlines miles for the same qualifying stay.
In addition, the hotel offers a full, complimentary, cooked-to-order breakfast each morning and a two-hour nightly manager's reception, popular with both business and leisure travelers. A 191-seat Mediterranean-style restaurant offers dining for the entire family.
Located two miles from O'Hare International Airport, the hotel's address is 5500 North River Road, Rosemont, IL 60018; phone: 847/678-4000; fax: 847/928-7659.
Created in 1983, Embassy Suites Hotels was the first all-suite upscale hotel brand to enter the industry and today is an undisputed leader in the segment, with more than 160 hotels open in the United States, Canada and Latin America.
Embassy Suites Hotels caters to all types of travelers. In fact, the Embassy Suites Hotels Space Survey ((c)2000, Hilton Hospitality Inc.) found there are two distinct personality types in travelers: "Upstairs" and "Downstairs" guests.
Upstairs personalities are defined by actions and characteristics of more introverted people who spend less time in public areas and prefer private spaces such as bedrooms over more social spaces such as lobbies and lounges.
While the findings indicate that nearly two out of three female respondents generally classify themselves as extroverts, more than half of these same women travelers changed attitudes when traveling for business, describing their behavior as more "Upstairs" and introverted on a business trip. For example, female business travelers might opt for room service, in-suite wet-bar, and the spaciousness of a two-room suite that allows a separation of work and sleep areas.
Unlike their female counterparts, men overwhelmingly maintained the same "downstairs personality" when traveling for business or pleasure. Travelers with downstairs personalities are considered to be more extroverted and tend to use concierge services more often, dine out of their rooms and prefer social spaces to private areas.
Downstairs hotel (or travel) personalities might enjoy a nightly manager's reception, dining in the on-site restaurant and relaxing in open lobby areas like those featured at Embassy Suites Hotels.
