SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 30, 2001

Business Objects (Nasdaq:BOBJ), the world's leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced that Sabre, the leading provider of technology, distribution, and marketing services for the travel industry, has selected Business Objects for its BI standard. Initially, more than 2,000 Sabre employees, ranging from analysts to executives spanning more than 10 departments, will use Business Objects as the internal reporting standard. Within the year, Sabre will extend the system to its customers by giving travel agency, airline, hotel, car rental, and other clients access via Sabre's extranet.

Sabre purchased a combination of WebIntelligence(R), the integrated query, reporting, and analysis solution for the internet from Business Objects, and BusinessObjects(TM), the company's full-client BI solution.

"Sabre is a great example of a visionary and successful company which uses the Internet to invent faster and easier ways of doing business," said Alex Moissis, vice president of marketing for North America, Business Objects. "Business Objects will enable Sabre to further empower its employees across the company with the delivery of rich business information from finance, operations, and sales with appropriate security, scalability, and ease of use."

Beginning with its development of electronic commerce for the travel industry more than 30 years ago, Sabre has continuously delivered innovative solutions that define and revolutionize the IT travel marketplace. Sabre is also a leader in B2C travel e-commerce through Travelocity, in which Sabre retains a 70 percent ownership, and in the B2B market through GetThere. Business Objects, another industry leader, will now provide Sabre users access to the massive amounts of important reservation, sales, customer, and service information, when and where they need it.
