Talarian's software infrastructure combined with the Forte for Java product provides an environment that allows developers to efficiently, reliably, and dynamically create Java technology-based applications conforming to the Sun Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE(TM))/JMS standard. In the upcoming release of the J2EE specification (version 1.3), Sun has introduced compatibility to JMS as a requirement. By working with Sun to provide this environment, Talarian is enabling developers to achieve the necessary JMS compatibility without requiring drastic rewrites of existing J2EE applications.
"Joining the Forte for Java Extension Partners program is a natural next-step in Talarian's relationship with Sun. This simple product combination lets us give our customers an opportunity to use a development environment that is easy to use and takes full advantage of our best-of-breed messaging solutions," said Steve Gimnicher, vice president of marketing. "The world is quickly moving not only towards standards-based applications, but also towards applications that can provide information when and where it is needed -- instantaneously. If it's a mission-critical or revenue-critical application, you'll probably already find Sun and Talarian on the inside."
"Talarian has been a leading innovator of infrastructure solutions for content distribution," said David Taber, director of portal and business development, Forte Tools, Sun Microsystems. "Their Workbench for JMS product brings that expertise to Java language developers, and their integration with Forte for Java makes the JMS standard easier to work with and deploy. We welcome Talarian's support of the Forte for Java portal, which is a destination for developers who value the latest generation of innovation and productivity."
