SeeBeyond Implementation Sees Reduction in Transaction Costs and
Improved Time to Market for New Products
SeeBeyond (Nasdaq:SBYN), the leading global provider of eBI solutions, today announced that ISIS Multimedia Net, a German telecommunications supplier, has successfully implemented the leading SeeBeyond eBusiness Integration platform at the heart of its operational support systems to provide end-to-end real-time business process management from the call record to the billing and CRM systems, through to the customers and carriers.
ISIS Multimedia Net supplies telephone and Internet services to nearly 55,000 customers in the Dusseldorf and Niederrhein area of Germany. The Company operates telecommunications networks for a number of service providers in the area, and offers a complete range of future-oriented technologies in the telecommunications and multimedia field, creating individually tailored packages for its customers.
The telecommunications market is undergoing significant change with the traditional portfolio of products coming under pressure and a trend to integrating voice, data and content over IP. This is driving the industry to focus on new products, new services and the integration of operational support systems to support these in a flexible, scalable fashion.
"We needed an integration solution that would enable us to process switching data more quickly and efficiently," said Thomas Bogge, responsible for IT-Strategies at ISIS GmbH. "The use of scripts that were written in-house had become too unwieldy and complex, and 70% of individual customization always had to be carried out by our customers themselves. Thanks to the robust and scalable architecture from SeeBeyond, we can quickly and easily support new product initiatives, and have already noticed considerable cost savings."
Today the company processes several million CDRs (Call Detail Records) each month. "SeeBeyond has resolved our performance bottlenecks which used to occur when we were processing mass data, and resulted in huge problems throughout the system," added Bogge.
ISIS is using SeeBeyond at the heart of its operational support systems to manage the process of driving the CDRs from the switches to internal systems such as billing and CRM, extending out to the external carriers and customers. By effectively managing and optimizing this process, ISIS is able to reduce transaction costs while at the same time provide a flexible platform for significantly reducing time to market for new products and services for its customers. ISIS is also planning on using SeeBeyond to extend services to support Internet access for its business customers.
"Telecommunications companies today are faced with increasing competition for customers, exponential growth in data volumes and new market entrants. This is forcing them to re-evaluate their systems and their abilities to scale to the new requirements while remaining flexible enough to introduce new products and services in the timeframes that customers demand," said David Bennett, vice president and general manager for SeeBeyond, Europe, Middle East and Africa. "The unparalleled scalability and zero latency of the SeeBeyond platform drives the core operational support systems processes between the service provider and its carriers and customers. Here, the ability to manage, monitor and analyze these processes provides true business agility in a highly competitive environment."
