QUAKERTOWN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 12, 2001
AM Communications, Inc. (OTC:AMCM) - announced today the availability of wide range of monitoring solutions for Scientific-Atlanta headend equipment, including SA Continuum, SA Prisma, and SA Prisma DT.
The SA Continuum and SA Prisma solutions are implemented using Serial Application Modules (SAM's) that plug into AM's Telemetry Application Monitor (TAM) headend equipment monitoring system. Monitoring headend equipment using the SAM solution allows AM to directly communicate with the target equipment's low-level native monitoring interfaces, eliminating intermediate managers and proxy agents.
The SA Prisma DT solution is accomplished using the Prisma DT's built in SNMP interface. AM's Omni2000(TM) monitoring software system is equipped with an SNMP manager that can interface to virtually any type of network equipped that conforms to this standard.
Joe Rocci, Vice President and General Manager of AM's Broadband Systems Group commented: "The availability of these new monitoring solutions for SA headend equipment clearly indicates AM's leadership in HFC network monitoring. Our powerful tool-set of interface equipment and protocol generators allows us to respond to new solutions requirements faster and more completely that anyone in our business. We now have over 240 HFC monitoring solutions in our portfolio, and the rate at which we add new solutions is growing very rapidly."
