Primedia Enterprises Announces Major Deals At 2001 Licensing Show; Seventeen, Teen Beat, Tiger Beat And Lowrider Magazines Brands Finalize Licensing Agreements

Primedia Enterprises, the licensing arm of Primedia, Inc. (NYSE: PRM), the world's leading targeted media company, today announced a series of licensing agreements for its Seventeen, Tiger Beat, Teen Beat and Lowrider magazine brands. These deals have produced branded toys, accessories and apparel creating value for customers and advertisers by offering merchandise from trusted and recognized media brands. Primedia Enterprises and its brand extensions can be seen for the first time at the 2001 Licensing Show.

Licensing agreements include:

- SEVENTEEN--Lantis Eyewear Corporation will exclusively design,

market and distribute eyewear under the SEVENTEEN brand name

through its mass retail division, Family Optics. The modern,

hip collection of SEVENTEEN branded sunglasses debuts at the

Licensing Show and will be sold in mass, and at opening price

point specialty, supermarket and drug retailers throughout the

United States beginning September 2001. Lantis Eyewear is a

leading designer, marketer and distributor of quality eyewear,

primarily sunglasses and optical frames. Its proprietary and

licensed brand name and designer products are sold throughout

the United States and internationally.

At the 2001 Licensing Show, Primedia Enterprises will also be

showcasing SEVENTEEN jewelry, hair accessories, school

supplies, backpacks, socks, sandals, makeup accessories and

published books.

- TIGER BEAT and TEEN BEAT--Passing4sane, a leading trendsetter in the young
adult market, has signed an agreement to market and distribute T-shirts under
the TIGER BEAT and TEEN BEAT brand names. The company will utilize the enduring
reputation of the popular fanzines to extend its trendy, chic line by using
different images of the Tiger throughout the decades. Key Passing4sane accounts
include Wet Seal, Spencers, Gadzooks, Hot Topics, Kohl's, Vanity Shops and
Federated stores.

- LOWRIDER--New-Ray Toys Development Ltd. has acquired the rights to produce
1/32 scale vehicles of LOWRIDER magazine touring trucks. The trucks are painted
in the unique `lowrider' style, which is modified every two years. The company
will produce replicas of the brightly painted trucks from the number one
selling automotive magazine's annual Go-Lo tour, which travels to 16 locations
around the country and is now in its 25th year. The toys will sell at
specialty, mass, gift stores and Go-Lo events.
