Kyocera Wireless Corp. today announced that the Kyocera QCP(TM) 6035 received the 3G Industry Achievement Award for Subscriber Technology from the CDMA Development Group (CDG).

The award was presented to Kyocera on Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at the 3G World Congress in Hong Kong.

The 3G Industry Achievement Awards recognize significant contributions by companies and individuals toward the advancement of wireless technology. The Kyocera QCP 6035 smartphone was chosen for its ergonomic design and unique functionality, which integrates voice communications, text messaging, wireless e-mail and multiple wireless Web access technologies with the large screen and huge applications library of the Palm OS(R) handheld computing platform.

Kyocera's QCP 6035 smartphone offers a built-in speakerphone, voice-activated dialing and a convenient jog-dial for accessing phone settings, contact information and call history. With the Palm OS v3.5 and 8 MB of memory, the QCP 6035 can run thousands of applications written for the Palm OS platform. The Kyocera QCP 6035 supports multiple wireless Web access technologies, including HTML browsers with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to provide security for confidential data, making the QCP 6035 a robust platform for m-commerce and enterprise information management. Users can also access corporate or personal e-mail accounts using integrated wireless e-mail applications.
