ADVISORY...for Thursday (June 14)
--(BUSINESS WIRE)
WHAT: David R. Follett, Emulex Corporation's senior vice president
of Business Development, will present to attendees of the
Network Storage 2001 conference today. Follett discusses the
evolution of SANs, NAS, clusters and appliances - and how each
of these plays an important role in the data center
interconnection. Presentation highlights include:
-- The benefits of iSCSI and who should implement it
-- How will Fibre Channel continue to advance
-- How InfiniBand addresses the key challenges facing
modern data centers
In addition, Emulex Corporation is hosting an Internet
protocol (IP) storage demonstration featuring its recently
announced GN9000/SI iSCSI host bus adapter (HBA) and the new Cisco
SN 5420 Storage Router at Emulex's booth at Network Storage 2001.
Emulex demonstrates how block-level data may be accessed, via
iSCSI technology, from a Fibre Channel storage area network (SAN)
running over an IP network. The company also showcases its new
LightPulse(R) LP9402DC PCI-X Fibre Channel host bus adapter and
the LightPulse LP9002L low profile two Gigabit per second (2Gb/s)
HBA. The Emulex LP9402DC supports 2Gb/s data rates on both
channels, providing up to 800MB/s of link bandwidth capacity;
while the Emulex LP9002L enables connectivity for the fast-growing
"thin" server (1u and 2u heights) market.
