CONCORD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 15, 2001
BISNet Inc., a leader in supplying automated employee benefits enrollment and administration solutions to large employers, today announced that it has successfully employed its Online Employee Benefits System(R) to electronically enroll employees of Seattle based West Coast Paper Company in voluntary benefit products provided by ING Employee Benefits (formerly Reliastar Life Insurance Company) using XML technology.
West Coast Paper Company is the largest independent distributor of paper and paper products in the Pacific Northwest with locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Western Montana and Northern California.
Gary Goldstein, BISNet's Chief Executive Officer, commented, "We are truly excited about our end-to-end enrollment and administration system and its ability to deliver eligibility and enrollment data in an electronic data interface (EDI) protocol to ING Employee Benefits. Our EDI team worked closely with ING's technical group and to our knowledge, ING is the first insurance provider that accepts electronic enrollment for voluntary benefit products such as flexible spending, short and long term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, and supplemental life insurance. BISNet's system provides comprehensive information on evidence of insurability (EOI) and beneficiary designations without the time consuming and expensive use of paper enrollment methods." Goldstein added, "By communicating directly with ING's main frame in extensible markup language (XML), we save time and money for all parties involved in the benefits chain -- employee, employer, and carrier. We believe this is a first in the industry and differentiates our capabilities from other competitors."
