ANN ARBOR, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 19, 2001
Ensure Technologies, the award-winning leader in intelligent digital information security solutions, today announced it has signed a distributor agreement with Kanematsu Communications Ltd. (KCS), one of Japan's largest distributors. Under the agreement, KCS will become the distributor for Ensure's XyLoc(TM) wireless PC security solution throughout Japan.
"Protecting information assets is taking on increased importance throughout Asia and we are very pleased to be working with Ensure," said Mr. Hiroshi Wakabayashi, General Manager of Network Products Division at Kanematsu Communications Ltd. "Ensure's patented XyLoc is a unique solution to bring to our channel partners because it offers a much more convenient method for protecting confidential information on PCs. We anticipate much success and demand for XyLoc throughout our markets."
"We are honored to have such a reputable organization representing XyLoc throughout Japan," said George Brostoff, co-founder and president of Ensure Technologies. "KCS has a long and proven track record in penetrating the market and establishing significant sales opportunities for their products. They are an ideal partner for Ensure and we look forward to working successfully with them."
XyLoc's patented technology -- full-time access control and proximity authentication -- transparently prevents unauthorized access to confidential corporate data, while at the same time making access to PC and network services and applications more convenient for authorized users. XyLoc protects sensitive data when it is most vulnerable: after logon, when the authorized user steps away from the PC for any reason.
A robust and hassle-free security solution, XyLoc is completely hands-free: no passwords to enter, no tokens to insert, no fingerprints to scan. Unlike other security technologies, XyLoc takes an innovative approach to user compliance by not requiring any action on the part of the user. Using its patented wireless technology, XyLoc detects who is in front of the workstation based on their proximity to the PC, whether he/she is an authorized user and what access privileges they have. Most importantly, XyLoc recognizes when the authorized user walks away from the PC for any reason and automatically secures the workstation until they return or another authorized user approaches the PC.
XyLoc has received RSA SecureID(R) and Keon(R) Ready certification from RSA Security, and Entrust-Ready(TM) Branding certification from Entrust Technologies. Additionally, Ensure is an associate member of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), a group working toward a wireless technology specification that provides links between mobile computers, mobile phones and other portable and handheld devices, and connectivity to the Internet. As more Bluetooth devices come to market, security will become essential to protect these devices from unauthorized access. Using XyLoc's patented technology, network managers can easily load and manage digital certificates on any Bluetooth PC, phone or PDA, which will add powerful security features to Bluetooth devices and appliances.
