Image Entertainment Announces August 28 All-Format Release of ``Randy Travis Live: It was Just a Matter of Time''

Image Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ:DISK), a leading licensee and distributor of DVD programming in North America, today announced the August 28 release of "Randy Travis Live: It Was Just a Matter of Time" on DVD, videocassette, compact disc and audio cassette.

The newest audio technology, DVD-Audio, will be packaged free of charge with the regular DVD release of the concert. The event was filmed on Dec. 14, 2000 at the Sun Theater in Anaheim, Calif.

Randy Travis, the internationally known Country superstar, won his first talent competition at the age of sixteen and never looked back. His career spans two decades and includes 15 No. 1 singles, sold-out concert tours, multi-platinum album sales and numerous industry awards. Travis' acting credits are equally impressive on film and television; his appearances include "The Rainmaker," "Young Guns," "Black Dog," "Matlock" and "Touched By An Angel." Randy's latest motion picture, "Texas Ranger," from Miramax/Dimension, is slated for release this year and he is currently working on a new film project with Eric Roberts.

The DVD will feature a 16x9 enhanced widescreen transfer, DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 multichannel audio, a video interview, bonus song and a special tribute from former president George Bush. Included with the first-pressing of the DVD will be a DVD-Audio of the concert that features high-resolution stereo, high-resolution six-channel surround and Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks.

The compact disc, like the DVD-Audio, will feature 25 songs, including such Randy Travis favorites as "Forever and Ever, Amen," "Better Class of Losers," "On the Other Hand" and "Matter of Time." Randy's current single, "Baptism," is also featured on the release. The compact disc and DVD-Audio releases were engineered by Grammy Award-winner Bill Schnee (Steely Dan's "Aja" and "Gaucho"). This project represents the first live concert program released by Randy Travis.

International video sales of the title will be handled through Image's joint venture partner, Aviva International, LLC.
