ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 21, 2001
Paragon Life Insurance Company, a MetLife(R) company, announced today the introduction of its new web sites designed to provide its Group Variable Universal Life (GVUL) customers easier access to, and more convenient service for, their life insurance program.
Paragon Life specializes in providing group variable universal life insurance programs for the highly compensated employees of America's top companies and professional firms. The two new web sites, e-Enrollment and e-Service are now available to Paragon's customers.
Paragon's e-commerce initiatives are part of the company's long-term plan to leverage the Internet to bring clients new and efficient ways of doing business with the company. "Our new web sites enable us to meet the demands of our customers by offering them services they find useful, and choices they have been asking for," said Tony Trani, Paragon President and CEO. "At Paragon, we understand the unique needs of the executive benefits market and with innovative technology we are able to provide our customers with smart solutions to help them make the right decisions."
The e-Enrollment and e-Service web sites are part of MetLife's integrated e-benefits strategy. "We look forward to adding the new Paragon web sites to MetLife's MyBenefits employee portal in 2002," said James V. Gemus, MetLife Vice President of Institutional e-Business and Banking. "This is another example of the in-depth product capability we offer our clients on-line in order to enhance their overall customer experience with MetLife," added Mr. Gemus.
Paragon's e-Enrollment web site offers eligible individuals the ability to make certain life insurance and separate account fund allocations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The site's user-friendly, interactive capabilities assist individuals in assessing their life insurance needs and selecting appropriate life insurance coverage amounts and other GVUL product features. The site also uses multi-media presentation technology to help bring key concepts to life as people enroll. "We're using cutting-edge technology to help our customers make informed decisions," said John Sherman, Paragon Vice President of Account Management & Development.
Paragon's e-Service web site offers participants on-line, around-the-clock customer service options. In the past, initiation of these transactions involved paper, or a customer service representative. "What makes this web site special is the ability of participants in our program to initiate policy transactions on-line," said John Tremmel, Paragon Vice President of Insurance Operations & Information Systems. "These transactions include accessing side fund balances, transferring money between accounts, notifying us of a change of address, or even requesting a policy loan on-line."
