Senator John C. Danforth Joins Salomon Smith Barney's International Advisory Board as Vice Chairman

Former United States Senator John C. Danforth has joined the International Advisory Board of Salomon Smith Barney as Vice Chairman. Senator Danforth is a partner at the law firm of Bryan Cave LLP and represented the State of Missouri in the US Senate between 1976 - 1995.
During his distinguished 18-year career in the United States Senate, Senator Danforth served on three key committees: the Committee on Finance; Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation; and the Select Committee on Intelligence. Senator Danforth was active in numerous important efforts including reducing the deficit, reigning in the unbridled growth of entitlements, encouraging long-term economic growth, improving education, reducing hunger and malnutrition throughout the world, and increasing the production of affordable housing.
Senator Danforth is a graduate of Princeton University and received his Bachelor of Divinity from Yale Divinity School and his Bachelor of Law from Yale Law School. Senator Danforth serves on the corporate boards of the Cerner Corporation, The Dow Chemical Company, General American Life Insurance Company and MetLife, Inc. He also serves on the boards of the Commission on Presidential Debates and the Concord Coalition.

The International Advisory Board is comprised of a number of the world's foremost business, financial, and former government leaders. During the second half of last year, two members of the International Advisory Board resigned: The Honorable Donald H. Rumsfeld, who served as Chairman of the Advisory Board since its inception in 1999, was tapped to become U.S. Secretary of Defense, and the Honorable Richard B.
