Airgas Appoints Bob McLaughlin VP-Controller

RADNOR, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 25, 2001

Airgas, Inc., (NYSE:ARG) today appointed Robert M. McLaughlin as vice president and controller, reporting directly to Roger Millay, senior vice president and chief financial officer for the Radnor-based distributor of industrial, medical and specialty gases, safety products and related hardgoods.

For the past two years, McLaughlin was vice president - finance for Asbury Automotive Group, an automotive retailer that recently relocated from Philadelphia to Stamford, CT. Before that, he held several positions at Unisource Worldwide, Inc., most recently vice president-finance. Unisource is a $7 billion international paper and industrial supply distribution company.

McLaughlin, a Certified Public Accountant, began his career with Ernst & Young in 1981. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Dayton. He and his family live in West Chester, PA.
