NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 26, 2001
Lightweight Adapters are Ideal for Fast and Convenient
Data Transfer or Backup to a Laptop
SanDisk Corporation (Nasdaq:SNDK) today introduced two PC Card adapters for its postage stamp-sized Secure Digital (SD) cards, MultiMediaCards and SmartMedia(TM) cards. The announcement was made at the PC Expo trade show, where SanDisk is demonstrating its products in the Palm Pavilion (No. 3722).
The new credit card-sized adapters fit into the PC Card slot found on many laptop and notebook computers. They are an ideal way for weight-conscious laptop owners to share digital photos, audio music files, video clips and data that may have been created on a wide variety of devices such as digital cameras, camcorders, Internet music players, audio recorders, smart phones or PDAs. They can also be used to transfer large files between laptops or to back up important files.
The new PC Card adapters are expected to be available in retail stores in July. The adapters are each expected to sell for approximately $60.
SanDisk already sells a PC Card adapter for CompactFlash(TM) (CF(TM)) cards and a complete line of readers for CF, MultiMediaCards, SD and SmartMedia cards. They are available in more than 20,000 retail outlets in North America, Europe, Canada, South America, Japan and Asia.
