Bleck Design Group, a Massachusetts industrial design and engineering consulting firm, announced today that their design for Network Engines' Web Engine Product Family won a Bronze Award from the 2001 Industrial Design and Excellence Awards, (IDEA) competition, sponsored by IDSA and BusinessWeek Magazine. The competition winners will be announced in BusinessWeek Magazine this month.
Receiving an IDEA award is a unique distinction that brands your design as the very best in the business, among your peers, client, and customers. The design award winners were selected from over 1250 entries from many brilliant design firms worldwide.
"We are honored to receive this notable award," said Jim Bleck, President of Bleck Design Group. The WebEngine family's distinctive appearance provided Network Engines with a visual foundation upon which to build a corporate image. Users are given an immediate visual sign of the product's significant functional differences from general-purpose servers".
"We wanted an extremely distinctive appearance to give our products a unique image in the market. The goal was to separate the image of these devices from typical general application servers". Said Larry Genovesi, Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Network Engines, Inc.
WebEngine Product Family
The WebEngine family was a pioneer in the market for extremely high-density servers, measuring just 1U (1.75 inches) high. The WebEngine family is used by Web hosting and service providers, content delivery networks and large enterprises for delivering content via large, distributed Internet clusters. The compact design of Network Engines' WebEngine family is especially important for those customers who place their servers in co-location facilities where space is often at a premium and can be extremely expensive.
