PetroQuest Energy Announces Proposed Offering of Common Stock

LAFAYETTE, La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2001
PetroQuest Energy, Inc. (Nasdaq:PQUE) announced today that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Form S-3 regarding the sale of 5,300,000 shares of common stock by the Company.
The Company will also grant to the underwriters an option to purchase up to 795,000 shares of common stock to cover over-allotments.
The proceeds of the offering will be used to fund specifically identified exploration and development drilling activities and other general corporate purposes. PetroQuest Energy, Inc. is an independent energy company engaged in the exploration, development, acquisition and production of oil and natural gas reserves in the Gulf Coast Basin, both onshore and in shallow waters offshore.
