REMINDER... for Friday (June 29)
--(BUSINESS WIRE)
WHAT: Learn Shop(SM) Inc. and Montgomery County Public Schools piloted the Drive For Supplies(SM) 2001. In early June 137,000 students through-out MCPS cleaned out desks, cubby holes, and lockers in this annual rite of spring! Unlike the other 51.5 million students across the country, they will direct their usable supplies and clothing to programs that assist impoverished students locally and internationally. MCPS is the first school system out of the 16,000 districts nation-wide to systematically recycle and reuse this great resource. Instead of the supplies going into the waste stream they will help pave the way to mountains of knowledge for students in the National Capital Area. Thousands of dollars in usable collected supplies will be dispersed to programs assisting impoverished pupils! WHEN: On June 29th federal, state, & local officials will be at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Maryland to highlight this project and its importance at 10 AM.
