NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 2001
Fairchild Semiconductor International (NYSE: FCS) will hold its second annual Analyst Day at the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday, June 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Eastern time.
Analyst Day will provide the financial community with in-depth briefings of Fairchild's initiatives in the power semiconductor market. Senior management will review the status of the company's markets, new product development initiatives and operations.
Fairchild's power initiatives have resulted in market share gains in 2000, when compared with 1999, of:
-- Fairchild becoming the Number 1 global supplier of broadbased power components, which is a combination of power management ICs and power transistors, as reported by Venture Development and Gartner; -- Fairchild attaining additional leading power positions including: -- Number 2 in the $3 billion Power MOSFET market; -- Number 1 in the less than 200V MOSFET segment; and -- In the top 5 in the $7 billion Power Discrete market and in the $5.2 billion Analog Power management market.
"Our Analyst Day presentations give investors a unique opportunity to learn more about Fairchild's businesses and growth plan," says Kirk Pond, president, chairman and CEO of Fairchild Semiconductor. "Despite the current industry downturn, we know investors are interested in our company's long-term strategy, and how management plans to continue to grow the company. Fairchild will continue to execute on its two-pronged strategy of new product development and strategic acquisitions. This formula has served us well, allowing us to gain market share and outperform the industry in the four short years since our founding. We look forward to providing investors another opportunity to learn more about Fairchild Semiconductor, as we have been publicly listed for less than two years."
The presentations will be available via webcast both live and for thirty days following the event. Interested investors who wish to listen to the live webcast should visit the investor relations section of the company's web site at www.fairchildsemi.com at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the event. Then, follow the instructions provided to assure the necessary audio applications are downloaded and installed. These programs can be obtained at no charge to the user. For thirty days, interested parties will be able to access an archived version of the presentations, which will also be located on the investor relations section of Fairchild's web site.
