Product Positions Mobile Automation as Emerging Leader in Wireless

Management Field

Mobile Automation, a leading provider of management solutions for mobile computing devices, Tuesday announced a new release of its device management software that supports the Palm OS suite of PDA products, as well as a wide range of CE handheld wireless devices.

The product release, named MA2000/4.0, offers corporations powerful software distribution and asset management capabilities that improve organizational productivity and reduce the costs of mobile workforce IT support.

"The release of MA2000/4.0 represents a huge step forward by Mobile Automation into the wireless marketplace, with a product that offers significant advantages over other wireless device management products in use today," said Doug Neal, president and chief executive officer of Mobile Automation.

"We are planning to release support very soon for other wireless devices, including the RIM Blackberry, and we are confident that enterprises will appreciate the compact design and efficiency of the product."

Neal also added that, "MA2000/4.0 offers users many of the same features that have made our MA2000 software the technology of choice for firms that need to support mobile laptops and LAN-based desktops. What makes MA2000/4.0 unique is its small footprint on the wireless device, combined with a bandwidth-efficient protocol that will not limit the productivity of the wireless device user.

"We don't want PDA users to be frustrated by slow software updates, or have to worry about disconnection and re-starting downloads. Our software will pick up the download from the point of disconnection, and the user will not notice any effect on productivity."

MA2000/4.0 is the only device management product that combines laptop, Palm, and CE device management into a single device management architecture. This combination provides IT administrators with a single, versatile device management interface that can reduce the cost of adopting wireless handheld devices and laptops.
