Tony Bennett and k.d. lang Bring the Summer's "Must See" Concert Event to New York With a September 29 Performance At Radio City Music Hall

The summer concert season got a lift with the announcement that two master vocalists, Tony Bennett and k.d. lang, will tour together starting in July and New Yorkers will be able to attend this concert event when the two perform at the famed Radio City Music Hall on Saturday, September 29.

Tickets for the performance go on sale on Friday, June 8 at 10am and are priced at $103.50, $78.50, $53.50 and $38.50. They can be purchased at the Radio City Box Office or through their website (www.radiocity.com) or through TicketMaster outlets. The performance time is scheduled for 8pm.

Bennett and lang performed the song "Moonglow" together for Bennett's MTV UNPLUGGED special in 1994 (which also garnered Bennett an "Album of the Year" Grammy award in 1995 for the "MTV Unplugged" recording released after the special) and ever since they have had a mutual admiration for each other's talents. Of the upcoming New York performance Bennett remarked, "It is always a thrill for me to perform in my hometown of New York City and to share the stage with such a wonderful talent as k.d. makes it a night that I am looking forward to with great anticipation."

Bennett and lang kick off their 23-city tour on July 25 in Portland, Maine, and will continue through August and September culminating with their Radio City performance. Bennett will celebrate his 75th birthday while on tour on August 3rd, when the two will be in concert in Charlotte, NC. The nine-time Grammy winner is also in the process of recording a new album to be released this fall, "Playing With My Friends: Bennett Sings the Blues," and is joined on several tracks with guest artists ranging from k.d. lang, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Diana Krall and Sheryl Crow among them. Multi-Grammy winner k.d. lang will be releasing a live version of her spectacular A&E "Live By Request" special which will be rebroadcast on A&E this fall. The CD, DVD and video versions of "k.d. lang: LIVE BY REQUEST" will be in stores on August 14th. The "Live By Request" performance series is a concept created and produced by Tony Bennett and his son and manager Danny Bennett.
