ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 2001
Artesia's European Division Increases Momentum With Addition of
Major European Media Group
Artesia Technologies, a leading provider of enterprise digital asset management solutions, today announced an agreement with Emap France, a division of global media company Emap plc, to develop a centralized repository for the management of the wide variety of digital assets generated through Emap's publishing activities.
This repository has been designed to provide enhanced access to the magazine publishing company's huge number of rich media assets - images, text and video - as well as the ability to easily repurpose these assets from one format to another so that they may be readily redeployed within a number of cross-media publishing efforts.
"Emap France is structuring its business to embrace new opportunities for growth," said Philippe Montjolin, IT Director, Emap France. "We chose TEAMS because it allows us to develop, sell and license multimedia products and assets in an efficient manner using standard technologies. We are now in a position to increase our market penetration through effective and profitable use of our existing assets."
The implementation of Artesia's award-wining enterprise digital asset management software, TEAMS(TM), will be used to support Emap France's wide range of consumer specialist magazines and Internet publishing initiatives.
The software is being implemented in one of Emap's imaging departments to create a comprehensive image repository for the company's websites and TV listings titles, such as Tele Star and Tele Poche. This implementation of TEAMS 4.1 is scheduled to be completed by the end of the first quarter.
Montjolin is already convinced that Emap made the right decision in selecting TEAMS and noted "...we chose Artesia Technologies in part due to the unmatched knowledge and experience of their professional services staff as well as their ability to implement new features quickly to meet our unique needs. Working with Artesia, Emap France has been able to reduce its production costs and increase the quality of its digital products in order to adopt profitable, new on-line business models."
The implementation, training and sale of Artesia's TEAMS solution to Emap France was conducted through the company's European division, which is headquartered in London.
In addition to Emap France, Artesia's European operations are driving the adoption of digital asset management by a number of organizations based on the continent, as well as supporting the use of the company's technology by a number of multi-national corporations.
"Emap France invested 12 months in deciding how to manage its digital assets," said Matthew Wallis, VP and European general manager of Artesia Technologies. "They concluded that TEAMS' robust and scalable design, along with Artesia's valuable after-sales training and implementation, gave Emap the flexibility they needed for creating a multi-platform digital library addressing the company's unique needs."
