TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 2001
Stream Intelligent Networks Corp. is pleased to announce that it has secured a significant additional round of financing from CDP Capital Communications, a subsidiary of the Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec (CDP), Canada's largest fund manager.
"At a time when emerging telcos are experiencing challenging capital markets, we are particularly pleased with this investment from CDP Capital Communications," said Steve Spooner, President and CEO, Stream Intelligent Networks Corp. "We see this investment as an endorsement of our business strategy. CDP Capital Communications is internationally recognized for its impressive portfolio and expertise in information technology and telecommunications."
"The bandwidth shortage in metropolitan areas has created an exciting market opportunity," said Pierre Belanger, president, CDP Capital Communications. "Stream has aggressively positioned itself as a metropolitan area network provider utilizing innovative technologies. Stream's introduction of Gigabit Ethernet will meet the needs of high bandwidth users with a scalable, cost effective fibre based solution, while STAR, Stream's cable-laying sewer robot, is building the metro last mile networks that businesses are now demanding."
