Roger Marino, Co-Founder of EMC Corp., and Alan G. Spoon, Managing General Partner, Polaris Venture Partners, Join TechTarget.com Board of Directors

NEEDHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 2001

TechTarget.com, the leading network of industry-specific IT Web sites, announced today that EMC co-founder Roger Marino and Alan G. Spoon, managing general partner, Polaris Venture Partners, have joined the Company's Board of Directors. In a separate release today, TechTarget.com announced that Marino and Polaris Venture Partners had become investors in the Company, as part of $30 million in Series A financing.

As directors of TechTarget.com, Marino and Spoon will provide strategic guidance and leadership to the Company, drawing on their experience with two of the most successful corporations in the country. In 1979, Marino co-founded EMC Corp., the world leader in information storage systems. In 1992, he retired from EMC as president, having brought the Company public and built it into the world's largest provider of storage solutions. Spoon joined Polaris Venture Partners in March 2000. Before that, he served as president of the Washington Post Company, a diversified media organization that includes the Washington Post newspaper, Newsweek magazine, Cable One cable television systems, and Kaplan test, education, and career preparation services. In his 18-year tenure with the Post Company, Spoon also held several high-level positions, including chief operating officer, chief financial officer, and president of Newsweek magazine.
