The Cisco Powered Network designation recognizes the company's expanded range of end-to-end managed network services built using Cisco's networking equipment, adding to the existing Cisco Powered Network status of Infonet's global IP intranet service.
"The Cisco Powered Network designation signals to clients that Infonet has created an opportunity to deliver four additional IP services over high-performance, secure and reliable Cisco networking equipment," said Larry Lang, Cisco's Vice President of Service Provider Marketing.
Infonet's expanding range of IP services allows globalizing businesses to deploy increasingly sophisticated enterprise systems while also expanding and simplifying their access to international clients and suppliers.
Infonet has been building global IP networks using Cisco technology since 1991. Infonet will work to extend Cisco Powered Network status to its IP services in data, Application Service Provision and voice.
"Cisco's industry-leading technology helps us deliver an increasingly sophisticated range of high-quality, secure e-business solutions to our multinational clients -- the importance of which intensifies as private and public networking becomes fundamental to enterprise computing systems," says Tom Whidden, Vice President Marketing for Infonet.
Use of the Cisco Powered Network mark is approved on an individual basis for each service. Cisco Systems' range of routers is a global standard for Infonet's IP services in customer premises and for connection to Infonet's global backbone, delivering globally managed networks for over 2,600 multinational clients worldwide.
As a Cisco Powered Network, Infonet will be able to participate in joint marketing and technology-sharing activities with Cisco.
