LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 19, 2001
Tropian Inc., a Silicon Valley-based advanced wireless communications technology company, is scheduled to exhibit and demonstrate its advanced, multi-mode RF technology at the CTIA Global Wireless 2001 conference and exhibition.
CTIA Global Wireless will take place at the Sands Expo Convention Center in Las Vegas from Tuesday through Thursday.
Tropian will exhibit in booth 7334 and conduct live demonstrations of its multi-mode TDMA handset and basestation products for customers, industry analysts and news media in a separate research and development lab.
The company has pioneered a revolutionary RF platform, based on polar modulation and non-linear power amplification, that enables the cost-effective implementation of high-performance, multi-mode portable terminals and infrastructure equipment.
Tropian's innovative Polar Impact(TM) digital interface enables manufacturers to assemble cost-effective, highly integrated multi-standard handsets that can deliver high-speed data virtually anywhere in the world.
The company's chipsets will support 2G, 2.5G and 3G wireless applications and will be used in multi-mode handsets with GSM, ANSI-136, EDGE and AMPS capability. Products incorporating Tropian's Polar Impact(TM) digital interface will be available to customers in 2001.
"We're excited to be able to demonstrate our latest multi-mode products at the CTIA show," said Mike Farese, Tropian's president and chief executive officer. "Tropian's technology will be an important enabler for Gen 2.5 and 3G handsets and base stations, and it especially supports recently announced industry movements to overlay networks in the Americas."
Last month, Tropian announced plans to collaborate with Infineon Technologies Corp., a leading semiconductor supplier for the wireless industry, on next generation baseband processors and multi-mode RF transmitters integrated circuits. Tropian expects to make other partnership announcements shortly at the CTIA show.
