Storage Computer Enforces Intellectual Property Rights in United Kingdom; Company Files Infringement Actions Against Hitachi

NASHUA, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 19, 2001
Storage Computer(R) Corporation (AMEX:SOS), a leading worldwide provider of high-performance storage systems, announced today that it has commenced legal proceedings against Hitachi Data Systems, Ltd. in the United Kingdom. The Storage Computer claim is for injunctive relief, damages and legal costs arising from alleged infringement of two of the company's European patents.
In its complaint, Storage Computer alleges that certain Hitachi Data Systems Ltd. storage products infringe Storage Computer's intellectual property, specifically two European patents: EP 0 294 287 entitled "Fault-tolerant, Error-correcting Storage System and Method for Storing Digital Information in Such a Storage System"; and EP 0 539 494 entitled "High-Speed, High-Capacity, Error-Correcting Storage System for Binary Computers."
Edward A.
