LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 2001

U.S. Robotics, provider of the world's No. 1-selling modem brand and worldwide supplier of emerging Internet access solutions, today announced it has signed letters of intent with GoAmerica (Nasdaq:GOAM) and Novatel Wireless (Nasdaq:NVTL) to offer an all-in-one wireless Internet package in the United States.

The U.S. Robotics wireless Internet package will include a wireless service co-branded by U.S. Robotics and GoAmerica, and Novatel Wireless' Type II PC card. A key feature of the bundle will be GoAmerica's leading Go.Web(TM) service, enabling secure wireless access to e-mail, the Internet and corporate data.

Initially providing wireless data access for notebook computers and laptop PCs, the U.S. Robotics wireless Internet package is expected to be available in spring 2001 from major retailers and distributors.

A prototype of the wireless Internet package will be shown at the Novatel Wireless Booth No. 4932 at the Cellular Telecommunications Internet Association (CTIA) show in Las Vegas this week. GoAmerica is exhibiting at CTIA Booth No. 6335.

"This type of easy-to-use product and service combination focuses on the needs of the individual user and will be the cornerstone of U.S. Robotics' business strategy moving forward," said Van Andrews, president and CEO of U.S. Robotics, based in Schaumburg, Ill. "We will continue to seek strategic relationships with outstanding companies to firmly and quickly establish the U.S. Robotics brand in emerging Internet access markets."

Industry analysts The Yankee Group project the number of wireless data users in the United States alone to explode from the current 2.9 million to 12.6 million by 2002.

"An exclusive relationship with U.S. Robotics offers a tremendous opportunity to bring wireless data to a wider customer base and to extend the reach of Go.Web," said Joe Korb, president for GoAmerica Communications based in Hackensack, N.J. "We believe that U.S. Robotics' excellent reputation and the strength of its customer relationships will further accelerate GoAmerica's success in the corporate wireless data services market."

The U.S. Robotics Internet service package will allow users to securely access the Internet virtually anytime, anywhere and send and receive e-mail without a wired connection. The package will offer access to the Web at speeds up to 19.2 kbps, with coverage in most U.S. cities.

"Our wireless access technology brings connectivity, portability and security to this exciting new Internet service package from U.S. Robotics," said John Major, CEO of Novatel Wireless based in San Diego. "With this package, mobile users will be able to `one-stop-shop' for their wireless Internet service and modem."
