DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 2001
Bynari Inc., the exclusive provider of cross-platform, Open Standards-based messaging and collaboration software for bridging the gap between Microsoft-based desktops and Unix/Linux-based workstations in the enterprise, today introduced a major enhancement to its TradeXCH client software application.
TradeXCH (pronounced "Trade Exchange") Version 1.2 is an easy to use and robust application which provides collaboration, messaging and calendar management functionality for Sun (NYSE:SUN) Solaris and Linux-based workstations and desktop systems.
With TradeXCH, customers can: send/receive email, and manage multiple email accounts in a single mailbox; establish sophisticated filtering rules for incoming email; share network files/folders with colleagues; access global directory services; maintain multiple address books; manage personal calendars and automatically request/schedule meetings with other TradeXCH or Microsoft Outlook users; and track action items on a built-in "to do" list. TradeXCH supports a number of standard messaging protocols, enabling a wide range of platforms to work together and supporting open communications across the enterprise. TradeXCH 1.2 is immediately available for desktops/workstations running X86 processor versions of Linux, Sun Solaris Sparc and Sun Solaris X86.
"Enterprises around the globe wonder how to make their Linux and UNIX-based systems interoperate with Microsoft Outlook and Exchange," said Mike O'Dell, chief executive officer of Bynari. "This new version of TradeXCH adds new capabilities and improved interoperability for mixed networks of Microsoft Windows and UNIX users. Our new RFC-compliant IMAP support with shared network folders, and the enhanced interoperability with the Microsoft Exchange Server add new dimensions to the collaborative capabilities of this product. With this release, we are confident that we now offer the best and most complete integrated messaging and collaboration client available for the Linux and Unix environment."
By allowing mail to be stored and managed on the server, IMAP mail greatly simplifies the task of keeping your mailbox in synch when it is accessed from multiple local or remote mail clients. Net folders allows sharing of mailboxes by multiple people in the organization. Utilizing net folders, organizations can facilitate complex projects by providing a common, shared repository for project-oriented information.
TradeXCH and other Bynari products, including TradeServer -- our Open Standards-based messaging server, can be purchased from our Web Store at www.bynari.net.
