MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 2001
Hampton(TM), the national brand of mid-priced Hampton Inn(R) and Hampton Inn & Suites(R) hotels, today announced the reopening of the Hampton Inn Oklahoma City-I-40 East hotel.
The 101-room hotel underwent 21 months of reconstruction after being destroyed by the May 3, 1999, tornado that swept throughout several Oklahoma cities.
"The original Hampton Inn Oklahoma City-I-40 East hotel made national news in 1999 for its efforts to protect the lives of hotel guests from the devastating storm," said John Sweeney, Hampton Inn general manager. "After nearly two years, the Hampton Inn Oklahoma City-I-40 East is proud to reopen its doors to service the lodging needs of travelers to this area.
"We have undergone a complete rebuilding process to return Hampton Inn to this location and are ready to deliver the high-quality service and amenities that have made the Hampton brand a leader among mid-priced hotels."
A grand opening celebration will be held in May to commemorate the hotel's reopening.
The new hotel is located at 1833 Center Dr., off I-40 in Midwest City, Okla. Hotel features include added amenities, such as an indoor pool; refrigerators and microwaves in all rooms; a business center; and meeting facilities that can accommodate up to 100 people.
As a part of the national Hampton brand, the new hotel will also offer Hampton's value-added standard amenities, such as clean, comfortable rooms with iron and ironing board; in-room dataport and coffee maker; a complimentary breakfast bar each morning; free local calls; and complimentary USA Today newspapers in its breakfast lobby area.
All room rates are backed by Hampton's national 100% Satisfaction Guarantee program, which states that if guests are not completely satisfied with their stay, they are not expected to pay for that night.
Hampton is also part of the Hilton HHonors(R) guest reward program. Members of Hilton HHonors(R) can earn HHonors points, in addition to airline miles, for every qualifying stay at the Hampton Inn Oklahoma City-I-40 East hotel. HHonors is the only hotel program that allows its members to Double Dip(R), simultaneously accumulating both hotel points and airline miles with each qualifying stay.
