NEW YORK--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--March 5, 2001

One of the most celebrated singers and entertainers of our time, Donny Osmond returns to his roots this May when he begins his first solo concert tour in more than a decade. "An Evening with Donny Osmond" will perform at approximately 20 North American theatres in May and June before heading overseas for a three-month tour of Europe, Asia, and Australia. Backed by a 5-piece rhythm section and 14-piece orchestra, Donny's repertoire will include music from his recently released cd, "This is the Moment" as well as new orchestral arrangements of other favorites and classics from his past.

"This is the Moment," is a contemporary collection of some of Broadway's greatest songs recorded with a new style and sound thanks to legendary music producer, Phil Ramone (Elton John, Barbara Streisand, Billy Joel, Frank Sinatra). From the fresh jazzy pulse of "Luck be a Lady" to the rhythmic pop sensibility of "Seasons of Love," the cd showcases Donny's extraordinary musical range as a singer. Elysa Gardner of USA Today said the cd is a "pop-savvy collection, expertly produced by Phil Ramone, that is a perfect showcase for Osmond's smooth, breezy vocal style. Osmond's winning strategy is worthy of attention - and respect."

The second leg of the U.S. tour will resume in January 2002 with dates through the spring.
