ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 6, 2001
Landacorp, Inc. (NASDAQ:LCOR), a leading provider of strategic healthcare management solutions, today announced that St. Joseph's Hospital of Atlanta recently signed an agreement to implement the Maxsys II medical management software in its facility. A Landacorp Maxsys I client for over 10 years, St. Joseph's has licensed the Maxsys II modules for the Case and Quality Management, as well as the system's Clinical Guideline Builder. Additional system functionality will be realized through the implementation of the InterQual(R) and Milliman and Robertson(R) criteria sets.
St. Joseph's Hospital, located in northern Atlanta, is a 346-bed tertiary care hospital recognized as a leading acute-care, specialty-referral hospital in the Southeast. Well known for its heart, vascular, cancer, orthopedic, neurology, and stroke specialty care centers, the facility also provides a comprehensive level of primary care. The hospital has built a reputation as a leader in the healthcare community by providing quality medical services through highly personalized, compassionate care.
"We are very excited about adding the Maxsys II medical management product to the other tools we use for quality and resource management," said Bobbie Rhodes, St. Joseph's Director of Patient Care Management. "We expect to achieve the following returns on our investment: greater efficiency in our daily workflow processes; enhanced cross communication between case managers, discharge planners, Quality Improvement Coordinators, and other members of the healthcare team; and easier reporting capabilities. All of these will assist us in better serving our patients and other customers."

This release contains information about future expectations, plans and prospects of Landacorp's management that constitute forward-looking statements for purposes of the safe harbor provisions under The Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. Examples of forward-looking statements include the anticipation of benefits by St. Joseph's from using the system. If the anticipated benefits do not result from the use of the system, it could impair our ability to use St. Joseph's as a reference site that could then impair our sales ability. This in turn could reduce our market penetration and resulting revenues and profitability. Actual results may differ materially from those indicated by these forward-looking statements as a result of various important factors including, but not limited to, Landacorp's dependence on a limited number of products with limited market acceptance and other factors that are discussed in the Company's Registration Statement on Form S-1 and other documents periodically filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. These filings are available at www.sec.gov. Landacorp may, from time to time, make additional written and oral forward-looking statements, including statements contained in the company's filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission and its reports to shareholders. Landacorp does not undertake to update any forward-looking statement that may be made from time to time by or on behalf of the company.
