DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 7, 2001
The viaLink Company (Nasdaq:VLNK) today announced that Kimberly-Clark will use viaLink's syncLink(SM) service to synchronize critical item, price and promotion data with its trading partners.
Based in Dallas, Texas, Kimberly-Clark is a leading global consumer products company with operations in 40 countries and product sales in more than 150.
"Through syncLink we expect to increase our administrative efficiencies, in part by reducing invoice discrepancies," said Jim Steffen, president, North American Consumer Sales.
"As a trusted independent third party, viaLink's syncLink provides a central repository of the items, prices and promotions that we establish with our trading partners, creating the official `data-of-record.' We expect to further enhance our e-commerce initiatives by building on this data-of-record housed in syncLink," said Steffen.
Lewis B. "Bucky" Kilbourne, viaLink's chairman and chief executive officer said, "We are delighted that Kimberly-Clark, with its market leading brands such as Kleenex, Huggies, Pull-Ups, Depend, Kotex and Scott, has chosen viaLink's secure, independent system to help maximize the effectiveness of its supply chain relationships.
"Kimberly-Clark joins a growing community of outstanding suppliers who have selected viaLink as the utility for communication of product, price and promotion information," said Kilbourne.
