FORT MYERS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 7, 2001

Chico's FAS, Inc. (Nasdaq: CHCS) today announced February sales results for the four week period ended March 3, 2001.

Total sales for the four week period ended March 3, 2001 increased 78.1 percent to $24.2 million from $13.6 million reported for the four week period ended February 26, 2000. Comparable store sales for the Company-owned stores increased 27.9 percent for the four week period ended March 3, 2001 compared to the same four week period last year.

Chico's sells exclusively designed, private-label women's casual clothing and related accessories. The Company operates a chain of 250 stores in 39 states and the District of Columbia. The Company owns 239 stores, franchisees own 11.
