Bill Furlow to Discuss Corporate Crisis Communications At March 2001 Orange County PRSA Meeting

The Orange County chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (OC PRSA) today announced Bill Furlow, founder of Furlow Corporate Communications, will be the featured speaker at its March 15, 2001 meeting.

Furlow will discuss crisis communication management including last year's Firestone and Ford situation, as well as other historical crisis management case studies such as Tylenol, Exxon and Denny's.

With more than 25 years' experience in public relations, corporate communications and journalism including tenure at the Cincinnati Post, San Diego Union and Los Angeles Times, Bill opened his own firm in 1995. Today he helps his clients prosper in the face of crises or difficult image problems with their reputations intact. An accomplished public speaker, Furlow is certified by the California State Bar to provide Continuing Legal Education credit for a course on representing clients in crisis, and he is the author of "Communicating in a Crisis: A Desk Reference for Attorneys".

Specific Event Information

The luncheon meeting will be held March 15, 2001 at the Hilton Hotel in Costa Mesa (3050 Bristol St.). Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.; the program begins at noon. The OC/PRSA luncheon program is open to the public. Membership in PRSA is not required. The non-member fee is $35 with RSVP by March 12 or $40 at the door.
