ALAMEDA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 2001
Action Technologies announced today it has become a member of the Business Process Management Initiative (BPMI.org).
Membership in this increasingly important initiative reflects Action Technologies' commitment to helping its customers improve productivity and profit by providing business process solutions. The company develops web-based enterprise coordination software that enables people to coordinate commitments between each other, and their customers and suppliers across corporate boundaries. Its business process and project management software, ActionWorks(R) helps customers reduce cycle time, increase efficiency and coordinate employee's activities so they feel empowered to make a difference in a company's productivity and profits.
Action Technologies' membership comes prior to an upcoming meeting among BPMI.org members on March 8, at which the organization will make the BPML (Business Process Modeling Language) specification available to the public for the first time. BPML is a meta-language for the modeling of business processes, just as XML is a meta-language for the modeling of business data.
About BPMI.org
Founded in August 2000, BPMI.org (the Business Process Management Initiative) is a non-profit organization that empowers companies of all sizes, across all industries, to develop and operate business processes that span multiple applications and business partners, behind the firewall and over the Internet. BPMI.org develops open specifications, assists IT vendors in marketing their implementations, and supports businesses in their use of Business Process Management technologies. BPMI.org has been initiated by Intalio, Inc. and created in August 2000 by a group of sixteen enterprise software vendors and consulting firms.
