HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 2001
Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc. (NYSE:DO) today announced that Bill Richardson, the former Secretary of the Department of Energy, was elected to its board of directors on March 7, 2001. Mr. Richardson has served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and was elected eight times to represent New Mexico's 3rd Congressional District where he was an active member of the House Commerce, Resources and Intelligence Committees.
Diamond Offshore is a leader in deep water drilling. The company's fleet of 45 offshore drilling rigs consists of 30 semisubmersibles, 14 jack-ups and one drillship. The fleet operates in the waters of six of the world's seven continents.
