CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 1, 2001
Red Mercury, LLC, a handheld game company, announced today that all Red Mercury(TM) games now fully support new high-resolution Palm OS(TM) Handhelds including the Sony(R) PEG-N710C CLIE(TM) Handheld. High-resolution AcidSolitaire(TM) 2.0 is available now from Red Mercury's web site (http://www.red-mercury.com). AcidFreecell(TM) 2.0 and Atom Smash(TM) 2.0 will be available on May 28, 2001.
Red Mercury's new games deliver crisp, detailed graphics in full color, with four times the visual detail of current Palm OS games. Atom Smash is a high speed action game with 64 built-in levels and a level editor. AcidSolitaire and AcidFreecell are exciting takes on classic solitaire games, with breathtaking high-resolution full color photographic backdrops during game play. A trial version of AcidSolitaire will be included with every Sony PEG-N710C CLIE Handheld, shipping later this month.
"These games look great on the new high resolution screens," said Scott Corley, President of Red Mercury, LLC. "With four times the visual detail, a full color background in AcidSolitaire is stunning to behold. It's great fun to be working on the forefront of technology in handheld games."
Games To Go
Handheld games have long been a large component of the video game industry, with Nintendo's Gameboy(R) leading the pack since its release in 1989. While the Gameboy is an all time favorite, Palm OS Handhelds tend to be a more common choice among adult professionals. A typical Red Mercury game player might spend an hour in an airport, or twenty minutes waiting for a meeting to start. Time that would otherwise be wasted is instead spent enjoying a Red Mercury game.
With Sony's recently announced high-resolution PEG-N710C CLIE Handheld, the possibilities for Palm OS games are expanding. Red Mercury's aggressive support for these new technologies, combined with the enjoyable playability of Red Mercury games, will continue to raise expectations in handheld gaming.
Pricing and Availability
AcidSolitaire 2.0 is now available for download from Red Mercury's web site (http://www.red-mercury.com). AcidFreecell 1.8 and Atom Smash 1.2 are also available now for download. All games include a free trial period.
Red Mercury games can be purchased directly from Red Mercury's web site. AcidSolitaire and AcidFreecell are $12, and Atom Smash is $14.95.
