Weyerhaeuser's Gary Baxter Honored by Business Insurance Magazine

Gary Baxter, assistant treasurer and director of Insurance for Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE:WY), has been selected by Business Insurance magazine as the Risk Manager of the Year for Large Corporations and named to its 2001 Risk Management Honor Roll. Business Insurance is a weekly publication that serves business executives responsible for the purchase and administration of corporate insurance programs.

The annual award, now in its 21st year, recognizes excellence in corporate and public entity risk management.

Baxter was recognized for his effective and successful management of Weyerhaeuser's insurance department, which is responsible for a wide range of insurance products and services, including property, casualty and marine exposures, fire protection and claims administration. Baxter has performed a variety of functions in the Corporate Insurance Department since joining Weyerhaeuser in 1971.
