Information Holdings Inc. Acquires Parthenon Press

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 15, 2001
Information Holdings Inc. (NYSE: IHI) today announced that it has acquired Parthenon Publishing Group Ltd. ("Parthenon") for cash consideration of approximately $8 million. Parthenon will become part of CRC Press, IHI's scientific reference business.
Parthenon, based in the United Kingdom, is a leading provider of medical and environmental reference products. Parthenon produces a wide range of books, journals and electronic products covering environmental topics and 35 medical subject areas.
In fiscal 2000 Parthenon had revenues of approximately $7 million and pro forma EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) of approximately $1 million. Its prospective results will be consolidated with IHI from the date of acquisition.
