BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 17, 2001

Popular ABC television personality and show host Regis Philbin is back to virtually challenge consumers who want to win one million digital dollars in "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - 3rd Edition."

The new PC CD-ROM game from Disney Interactive, shipping May 22 to retail stores nationwide, features more than 600 new questions, including fun, theme-based trivia sets from the "Swinging `70s," "Popular Culture" and more. Consumers can tap into the Internet to download a fresh question set every month, keeping "Millionaire" madness going long after they've purchased the game.

To date, more than three million copies of the "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" PC CD-ROM franchise have sold since the first CD-ROM's launch in 1999. Based on the top-rated, smash hit ABC TV quiz show of the same name, "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" CD-ROM became an instant success, topping best-seller charts and setting a new record for the game industry by becoming the fastest selling PC game of all time.

Existing fans and newcomers will find "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - 3rd Edition" packed with enticing questions that could lead them all the way to the million-dollar level. Brand new video and audio of virtual Regis, including his legendary, "Is that your final answer?" bring the realism and squirm-in-your-chair pressure of the television show to the interactive game. Continuous cajoling from that lovable scamp Regis and familiar, tension-inducing music heighten the excitement and anticipation of answering correctly.

Similar to the TV show, "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - 3rd Edition" features the "Fastest Finger" round to determine which contestant advances to the Hot Seat. Three lifelines -- Ask The Audience, Phone A Friend and 50/50 -- are available to help players through the 15 questions necessary to win the million-dollar prize.

When players select Ask the Audience, the CD-ROM uses an Internet poll conducted prior to the release of the game. Phone A Friend calls one of Regis' virtual friends, who might not always be ready with the right answer. The 50/50 lifeline eliminates half of the four answers, leaving players to choose from two potentially correct ones.

"Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - 3rd Edition" is available May 22 nationwide on CD-ROM for Windows(R)95/98/ME and Macintosh at the suggested retail price of $19.99.
