New Month-Long Feature Offers Music Fans

Direct Access to Artists and Music

Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq:YHOO), a leading global Internet communications, commerce and media company, today announced the launch of the "Artist of the Month" feature on Yahoo!(R) Music (http://music.yahoo.com). Building upon the success of the existing Yahoo! Music "Artist Spotlight," a feature that spotlights hit songs and music videos from two artists each week, Yahoo! Music introduces the "Artist of the Month," a program providing fans with special content and direct access to some of the best music and hottest artists in the world.

The "Artist of the Month" feature on Yahoo! Music highlights one chart-topping artist for the full month, offering a wide variety of music experiences, activities and events throughout the month. These include the ability to listen to and download music; watch videos; shop for artist merchandise; chat with artists directly; access the latest music news including upcoming concert tour dates, comprehensive lyrics, recent albums and singles; enter sweepstakes for free artist merchandise; and connect with other fans.

"This program reflects our commitment to provide music fans with the most compelling and comprehensive music experience on the Internet," said Chris Otto, senior producer, Yahoo! Music. "Yahoo! Music's `Artist of the Month' feature is yet another step forward in Yahoo!'s strategy to become the premier entertainment destination on the Web."

The May "Artist of the Month" features Grammy-winning pop and reggae star Shaggy, in advance of the release this month of his newest single, "Freaky Girl," from the multi-platinum Hotshot. Continuing his more than four-month residency in the top 10 of Billboard's album chart with Hotshot, Shaggy is bringing Yahoo! Music fans the latest photos, behind the scenes footage from the making of his hit video, "Angel," various full-length songs and music videos from Hotshot, as well as the opportunity to connect directly with him through a chat later this month. On tour right now in Europe and Asia, Shaggy returns to the United States to chat with Yahoo! Music fans on May 30 at 8:00 p.m. EST on http://chat.yahoo.com. Fans also can enter to win Shaggy CDs and posters through a special "Artist of the Month" sweepstakes.

"I am always looking for ways to connect with my fans and to give them something back," said Shaggy. "My fans around the world use Yahoo!, so it makes it easy for me to stay in touch with them. I look forward to hearing from my fans directly during the live chat later this month."
