SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 21, 2001

New Moon Systems today announced it will join Intel's(R) Application Service Provider (ASP) Channel Program, a worldwide ASP channel initiative which provides top tier ASPs in the North America, Europe and Asia markets with training, matchmaking, and co-marketing, as well as other resources to enable rapid adoption of Intel Architecture.

"We are excited to team up with Intel to address the needs of the ASP market," said Marc Lowe, chief executive officer of New Moon Systems. "We're confident that our innovative Application Management Platform (AMP) technology will be the `secret sauce' behind many of the ASP and e-business initiatives that arise from this program. In doing so, we hope our systems software contributes to the success of many ASPs."

Intel and New Moon signed a Memorandum of Understanding outlining program commitments and an overall agreement to work together to deploy applications and solutions, from the front-end through the data center.

"ASPs will bear a strong influence over the build-out and delivery of next generation Internet based e-Business solutions," said John Davies, vice president of Intel's Solutions Channel Group. "It's very important that Intel works closely with this key industry group in order to facilitate reliable, scalable, secure and cost-effective solutions on Intel Architecture."

Intel launched its ASP Program in February 2001 to work with leading ASPs to deliver e-Commerce solutions to large and small companies setting up business on the Internet. The Intel ASP program builds on Intel's history of success in working with Internet Service Providers and Web integrators. New Moon's application delivery technology, Liftoff(TM), and it's application management platform, Canaveral(TM), complement these ASP initiatives that Intel already has in place.

The Intel ASP Program offers members marketing and business development benefits, participation in seminars and industry events, inclusion in solutions catalogs, and on Intel's e-Business Center Web site. In addition, there are matchmaking opportunities among multiple vendors, including original equipment manufacturers, independent software vendors, ISPs, and other members of the Intel e-Business Network. The Intel ASP Program also offers members an avenue to seek venture funding from Intel Capital -- Intel's strategic investment group.

"Intel has a network of tens of thousands of dealers around the world through our reseller programs, as well as relationships with thousands of solution providers," said Davies. "We continue to add value to this network by including ASPs, as the world rapidly adopts e-Business solutions. There is a significant opportunity for exchange of technical information, business development, and demand creation among members of this network."
